Day 1 : Leh Airport - Leh (Main Bazar, Leh Palace , Tsemo Gompa & Shanti Stupa) : Stay Leh

Early Morning board flight to Leh, soar to the “roof of the world” on an amazing flight over the Himalayas. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel and proceed with the check-in. Leh is located at an altitude of 3,500 metres above sea level so you need to take it easy at the beginning to give time to your body to adjust to this altitude. Drinking plenty of water and walking at a slow pace are the two important recommendations to remember. Stroll the main market and have lunch where you like. There are many eating options and you could try local dishes too. Late Afternoon start exploring Leh with the visit of the Leh palace. The king of Ladakh built this nine-storey edifice rising above the old town during the first half of the 17th century. Inside, a museum exhibits a collection of jewellery and ornaments belonging to the royal family. From the palace, a winding path leads to Namgyal Tsemo gompa. This Buddhist mud-brick monastery dominating the city of Leh was founded in 1430 and it houses a three-storey-high statue of the Future Buddha. Thousands of fluttering prayer flags connect to the nearby Victory Peak. The next destination is the white-domed chorten known as Shanti Stupa. Japanese monks at the summit of a rocky peak constructed the monument and it is the best place in Leh for sunset. From here, you can contemplate magnificent views of the whole of city and the surrounding villages. After sunset, go back down to the city centre and spend some time in the Main Bazar, a bustling market where women in traditional Ladakhi dress sell fruits and vegetable. Overnight at leh.

Day 2 : Leh – Magnetic Hill – Confluence of Indus and Zanskar Rivers -Gurdwara Pathar Sahib – Spituk Monastery – Hall of Fame

After breakfast drive through the Indus valley takes you to the “Sham” region which means “West” in Ladakhi. A half-an-hour drive from Leh brings you to the strange Magnetic Hill where you can see the car with engine turned off and in neutral starting moving uphill against gravity… A few kilometres further on the Leh-Srinagar highway, you arrive at the famous photo spot of Sangam, the confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers.. Then, visit Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, a small shrine devoted to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Stop at Spituk monastery before going back to Leh. Overnight at Leh.

 Day 3 : Leh – Khardung La (18380ft ) –Nubra Valley

This morning, drive to the Khardung La pass, the world's highest motorable road at an altitude of 5,602 metres above sea level. From the top, there is a stunning panorama of the Karakoram mountain range. The dramatic Nubra valley (“the valley of flowers” in Ladakhi language) actually comprises two parts: one part along the Nubra river (Sumur, Panamik) and another part along the Shayok river (Diskit, Hunder, Turtuk). Rising above the village, the Diskit monastery was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo in the 15th century. It is the largest and oldest gompa in the Nubra valley. A few hundred metres away, the impressive 32-metre-high statue of Maitreya Buddha was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in 2010. From Diskit, follow the Shayok river for 10 km to reach Hunder village where you can spend the night. Overnight stay at Nubra valley.

Day 4 : Nubra Valley –Shyok – Tangste – Pangong Lake

After breakfast, ride on a camel’s back through the rolling Hunder sand dunes on direct payment basis. The double- humped Bactrian camels were brought from the Gobi desert in Mongolia when the Nubra valley was a stopping point for the caravans travelling on the Silk Road between Central Asia and India. Then, drive towards Pangong lake via Shayok, a scenic drive through isolated valleys. The breathtaking Pangong lake is located at an elevation 4,250m. It is 140 km in length and 70% of it lies in Tibet. This is where the final scene of the movie “3 Idiots” with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor was shot. Pangong lake is an important breeding ground for migratory birds such as brahmini ducks, seagulls and bar-headed geese. Overnight at Leh. Overnight at Leh.

 Day 5 : Pangong Lake – Chang La –– Thikshey – Shey – Leh

Moring walk along the shore of Pangong lake and enjoy the surreal beauty of the shimmering blue water surrounded by barren mountains. Then, start driving back towards Leh. Cross one of the highest drivable mountain passes in the world, Chang La (5,360m), after dropping down into the Indus valley, stop at Thiksey monastery. Built on the side of a rocky hill, the monastery resembles the Potala Palace in Tibet. One of the temples enshrines an enthralling 14-metre-high statue of Maitreya Buddha with a finely-decorated headdress. The last visit before reaching Leh is the Shey palace, located just 5 km from Thiksey. The Shey palace was used as a summer palace until the middle of the 19th century by the royal family of Ladakh. Inside, there is a beautiful temple with a 12-metre-tall copper statue of Shakyamuni Buddha gilded with approximately 5 kilograms of gold. Overnight at Leh. Overnight at Leh.
